Derby Heritage Beer Fest FAQs

Please find below some useful information ahead of your session at the Derby Heritage Beer Festival.

Arriving in Derby

• The Festival location is: Museum of Making, Derby Silk Mill, Silk Mill Lane, Derby, DE1 3AF
• Visitors are advised to arrive by public transport wherever possible.
• There are 4 accessible parking bays on Silk Mill Lane which are for use by Blue Badge holders only. There is no other parking available on site.

Entering the Festival

• The entrance to the Festival will be through a marquee set up outside the front of the Museum. Head across Cathedral Green towards the front of the Silk Mill and you will see the entrance.
• On arrival, please have the QR code on your ticket ready to be scanned to avoid delays. Tickets can be shown on a mobile phone or printed.
• You will be given a choice of glass and a Festival programme. Your glass is worth £3, which can be claimed back at the end of your session if you do not wish to keep the glass, or donated to Derby Museums to help support their work.
• If you wish to bring people who do not have a ticket, they may be able to purchase a ticket on the door, capacity allowing. Priority will be given to people who have prebooked a ticket. If a session is full, tickets sold on the door will be restricted to one-in-one-out, this does not apply to prebooked tickets.

Terms of entry

• This is an 18+ event. Children will not be permitted in Festival areas. The Festival will be operating a Challenge 25 policy, please be patient if volunteers ask you for ID.
• Time limited pass-outs will be available if required, speak to the Front Desk team if you need a pass-out of the Festival.
• Please be mindful of local residents when leaving the Festival at night by keeping the noise down outside of the Museum and marquee.

Buying drinks

• Purchases can be made by card payment only. There will be card machines on every bar. To keep things running smoothly, tokens and cash will not be accepted.
• Drinks lists can be found in your programme on arrival and online here. Please note that drinks are subject to availability and not all drinks will be available at all sessions.

The venue

• The Museum of Making is fully wheelchair accessible. For a detailed Access Statement please click here.
• Seating is available in the marquee during daytime sessions, and in the marquee and Museum’s Civic Hall during evening sessions. Visitors are not permitted to bring their own chairs due to fire safety regulations.
• A map of the Festival will be available in the programme.

Food

A variety of food options will be available in the River Kitchen and also in the marquee.
