Revealing an extraordinary story of transformation!
Field to Fashion explores the complex journey of raw British fleece from flock into fibre, where people, place and purpose create the clothes which we cherish and may even take for granted.
Whether shearing, scouring or spinning, uncover the skills and knowledge shared across generations of designers and makers, linked by the longstanding connection of land to hand and wool to wear – plus everything in between.
Celebrating the skillset of exceptional pioneers and textile practitioners including farmers, weavers and dyers tied by the provenance of their craft, encounter the wonderous qualities of wool and unearth its potential for a future led by regeneration and revival.
This exhibition is part of the Field to Fashion project funded by Art Fundand Rolls-Royce, as part of our STEAM Learning programme and developed with support from John Smedley and British Wool.
Suitable for all.
