Introduction to woven constructions

Museum of Making22 February 2026

As part of Wool Month, explore how fabrics are woven from wool!

In this workshop you’ll learn the foundations of how woven fabrics are constructed. We’ll learn 3 of the main woven constructions and use these to create an ‘off-loom’ woven artwork for you to take home.

You’ll have the opportunity to play with different colours and yarn types and we’ll discuss how the combinations of colours, textures and patterns will affect your weaving.

All materials are included in the workshop and each attendee will receive a guide on how to continue to their weaving at home.
