Lino-Printed Lampshade workshop

Museum of Making22 August 2026

Learn to lino print and construct your own lampshade in a day.

In this workshop, you’ll be guided through designing your pattern and cutting your own lino block. Using natural dye inks, you’ll learn to print your design onto beautiful, pure linen fabric. After drying and heat setting the fabric, you’ll then be taught to roll your handprinted textile onto a 30cm drum shade, creating a professional quality lampshade.

You’ll leave with your very own handprinted shade, which would be suitable as a ceiling pendant or for use with a lampshade base. You’ll also have gained the skills and knowledge to continue your making at home!

All tools and materials are included in the workshop.
