Who will be crowned Derby’s First Count of Poetry?
On 15th May 1924, Dracula stepped foot on stage for the first time at The Grand Theatre Derby, now over 100 years later Dracula Returns To Derby and Derby Poetry Festival invite you to share your vampire and horror themed poetry at ‘Poetry Doesn’t Suck – The Vampire Poetry Slam’.
In this traditional poetry slam, performers will have 3 minutes to share original horror and Dracula themed poetry and spoken before our panel of judges, (living and otherwise).
Established writers or new blood, all are welcome for a night of high stakes and good fun.

Presented as part of ‘Dracula Returns to Derby’, an AHRC-funded research project led by the University of Derby in partnership with Derby Museums, Derby Theatre, Bournemouth University and Sheffield Hallam University. A series of public workshops and events that connect the city with the world’s most famous vampire. Co-produced with Derby Poetry Festival.
