This talk will showcase the innovations of cutting-edge vegan materials replacing animal hides and furs – from cactus leather and banana silk to soybean cashmere and corn fur, highlighting the potential for them to return to the earth. Some of the materials will be available to see and touch, allowing visitors to experience their potential and properties for themselves, and discuss how to use them for making clothes and other fashion items.

Sascha Camilli, Manager of PR Projects at PETA, will shine a light on PETA campaigns in the fashion industry, which have shifted the focus of the industry and helped make progress for ethical fashion. Sascha is the author of Vegan Style, a guide to vegan fashion and lifestyle. She founded digital vegan fashion magazine Vilda, has hosted the podcast Catwalk Rebel, and writes the Substack newsletter Kind of Wild.
