Booking and Prices: £15.00 + VAT per pupil. This session allows 25 pupils (minimum) to 35 pupils (maximum).

Session Description: Complete a KS2 Unit of work in a day at The Museum of Making! Exploring our galleries and working in our state of the art studios, learners will be inspired by Derby born Rebecca Crompton and explore different styles and capabilities of stitch. They will then begin a journey of 21st century skills design to create their own individual piece with a sew in battery,  LED light and conductive thread, thinking about the science of electricity to influence their stitch and create a workable circuit!

Session Curricula:

  • Science (apply scientific knowledge to practical activities; construct a simple or series circuit; Follow recognised symbols when representing a circuit in a diagram)
  • History (Chronologically explore the development of technology and industry over time in the galleries)
  • Design and Technology (understand how key events and processes in design and technology have helped shape the world; gain knowledge, understanding and skill to engage in an iterative process of designing and making; understand and use electrical systems in their products)
  • STEAM Learning
