Experience a day at The Museum of Making allowing your GCSE students to case study Rebecca Crompton’s story of innovation and to add to their skills portfolio by learning 21st century e-textiles.

In this jam-packed self-guided day visit, first learn about the Museums collections with a talk about Derby Museums and its collections' history, followed by either a morning or full day of self-guided visits to one or all of our three museums sites.

Pupils will embark on a week of Museums experiences, working closely with the learning team, they will explore different careers paths available at the museum. We welcome pupils interested in all careers paths to apply for the work experience weeks.

Students will learn from Rolls-Royce apprentices and industry specialists about their own career pathways with advice on how to get into a career at Rolls-Royce.

Your learners will explore the galleries where they will discover a wealth of examples of gears, levers and pulleys, and learn how they were used to move looms, clocks, railways and the rest!
