Sanding in the workshop

Public Workshop

Become a maker at the Museum of Making

Be a part of a 300-year legacy of making, the Workshop is public and available for all to use.

Situated in the site of the world’s first modern factory, our fully equipped workshop has facilities for woodwork, metalwork, jewellery-making, ceramics, CNC machining and more.

The Workshop is a welcoming space for those who want to make. Sign up and become a Maker.

As a Maker, you can work on personal projects, learn new skills and discuss ideas. Makers can use the Workshop regardless of previous ability or experience.

Work alongside Technicians and Volunteers, some of whom may be working on projects to support the different sites of Derby Museums.
