Museum of Making: Adopt an Object

At the Museum of Making, you can choose from 39 best-loved objects from our collection, from the 1980s ‘No Fouling’ sign to a Normanton manufactured brick, and from a Midland Railway train carriage key to a model of the Supermarine S6. Each object has its own unique story to tell, researched by our wonderful Derby Museums volunteers, waiting for you to help play a part in its next chapter.  

Each adopter will receive a digital certificate and image of the object, and a choice of name included alongside the object on this website.  

By adopting an object, you will be helping us to remain open and free. In helping us to remain open, all donations help us to continue to deliver our award-winning learning programmes and activities for all ages, ensuring that Derby Museums continues to be an inspiring place for everyone.
