Tender Opportunity – Energy Audit

Derby Museums seeks to commission an experienced external organisation or consultant to produce an energy audit of our spaces, with particular focus on the Museum of Making and Derby Museum & Art Gallery (which also includes the Museum on the Wardwick), to identify:

  • Energy usage: Utilising meter reports (a mixture of HH and manual), break down the consumption of gas, electricity and water across our sites.
  • Energy wastage: Conduct a survey of our estate, identifying key capital improvements to reduce energy consumption.

A carbon and energy audit will be able to identify meaningful areas of change we may undertake and will also be able to measure the value of the activity we currently implement, such as our sustainable retail sourcing procedures. The audit, when complete, will allow us to leverage additional capital funding to address the issues across our estate, and might also identify low-cost solutions to save expenditure and reduce waste.

Through this project, we intend to appoint an Energy and Carbon Consultant to conduct a full audit of our estate, working alongside our operations teams and our independent energy broker. The brief will involve identifying our current levels of consumption and carbon production, identifying areas of waste, and then suggesting solutions to introduce that will minimise that waste.
