Session Description: Using recently researched historical sources, your class will creatively find out about the life of Mary Pickford, the wife of Derby’s finest architect Joseph Pickford. What will they decipher about Mary by uncovering her huge untold impact on Derby?

Session Curricula:

  • History (A local history study tracing how several aspects of national history are refected in the locality; use, explore, analyse and critically think using a range of different historical sources giving reasons for differing stories of the past; exploring the complexity of hidden histories)
  • Art and Design (develop techniques and use of materials with creativity, experimentation and an increasing awareness of art and design)
  • STEAM Learning
