Session Description: Joseph Wright of Derby is a significant person in British history and international art; We will bring to your classroom an insight into his remarkable story and teach your learners some simple portraiture skills.

Session Curricula: 

  • History (Chronological understanding of British and world history; establishing a clear narrative of Ancient Egypt; develop appropriate use of historical terms; The achievements of Ancient Civilisations: depth study of how and why Ancient Egyptian artefacts are in Derby)
  • Art and Design (develop techniques with creativity, experimentation and an increasing awareness of different kinds of art and design)
