Derby Museums uses its unique cultural heritage and the city’s stories of innovation and making, to engage children and young people in learning and activity programmes. Our programmes drive creativity; develop 21^st century skills relevant to learning, work and society to enable children and young people to believe in themselves as our future thinkers and makers.

In addition to our exhibitions and events, Derby Museums has a Learning Programme that Champions STEAM* Learning. Our programme follows in the footsteps of Derby’s thinkers and makers from the Enlightenment period who were driven by curiosity, passion for knowledge and acquisition of skills.
Our Learning Programme uses our collections to better understand the world around us and inspire our activities. From school visits, tours, creative making sessions, School holiday activities, Craft & Making club to outreach, and taking Derby Museum into community settings. There is something for everyone.
